Stephanie is a happily married woman with a beautiful young daughter and a lovely home in a nice village. To many she lived the suburban dream but Stephanie was for from content with her lot. She was a serial dieter that always achieved short lived success on the diets she attempted to follow.

Stephanie was humiliated by her weight and she allowed herself to slip into the shadows in an effort to avoid notice.

“I had not been out in the village for about a year. I had also stopped going to my daughter’s school events. We had to go to a family celebration just before Christmas and if I could have found any way to avoid going I would have. It was possibly one of the most difficult nights I can remember as everyone was so happy about the celebration and I felt awful.”

“The changes I have made are for life. I could not and do not want to be on a diet forever however the changes to what I eat and how I exercise are just part of my everyday life now.”

Last year she had only one Christmas wish, she was desperate to lose a few pounds. No one could grant her this wish. She needed a motivational tool and the relentless support of her family and friends, but at the end of the day Stephanie was the only one capable of changing her own life!

Stephanie put the days of following faddy diets firmly behind her and decided to make a commitment to the online weight loss website. She wanted to lose weight healthily and maintain the weight loss forever.

“I have tried every diet known to woman from detox to cabbage soup. I had some success but the weight eventually went back on as this was not a lifestyle plan. The difficulty was maintenance once my target weight was reached.”

As well as following a healthy eating plan, Stephanie liked the idea of having to weigh in regularly without the shame of group weigh ins.

“I didn’t want to attend the weight loss group in my village as this would be too visible to people outside my family and I would have been mortified to admit how heavy I was.”

In just 11 months Stephanie has dropped 4 dress sizes and an impressive 4 stone 5 lbs. Her weight has gone from 15 stone to 10 stone 9 lbs.

Stephanie describes the difference weight loss has made to her. “I’m a completely new person. My confidence is better than it ever has been. This is true of both my working life and my personal life. My relationship with my husband is better than it has been for a long time.”

And I am sure Stephanie’s other half is delighted that she has halved the amount of time she puts into choosing an outfit for a night out now!

“I don’t have to spend hours worrying about what to wear but instead I can put on a simple top and a pair of jeans. Clothes shopping has become a joy rather than a chore.”

Stephanie was surprised by the variety of meals and foods she was allowed while following the meal plan.

“The meal plans were really helpful. Being able to plan for the week and then create a shopping list saved so much time and effort. The diet also allowed me to use some convenience meals which was a great help.”

One of the biggest changes that Stephanie made was including a breakfast into her daily routine. Whereas before she always made an excuse to avoid this meal, now she makes sure she has a hearty meal that will set her up for the morning.

“Instead of having breakfast I would have a really large lunch consisting of crisps, fizzy drinks and calorie laden sandwiches. Since starting the Gi plan I have an oat based breakfast cereal with light soya milk.”

Due to this substantial meal in the morning Stephanie no longer feels the need to overeat at lunch or dinner.

Another big change is the amount of water she drinks throughout the day. Instead of enjoying wine she has replaced it with fizzy water. Needless to say there was no need to exclude wine altogether; it was just a question of finding the balance that worked.

“An occasional glass of wine is still allowed but mainly at the weekend, not every night as drinking too much can lead to an attack of the munchies.”

Stephanie had endless determination to reach her goal which was half the battle. She lost the weight to improve her own quality of life rather than in an attempt to fit in with others expectations.

“I’ve always lost weight in the past for other people or to fit into a dress for a special occasion. This time it was all for me. The timing was right for me to take control of my life and do something for myself that would change how I felt. I was fed up with feeling miserable and now my whole outlook on life has changed.”

She is very positive that she can maintain her new weight for life because of the outlook she has developed on eating healthily.

‘With experience comes knowledge’, this is certainly applicable to Stephanie. She has realised that weight loss does not need to involve extreme diets, mood swings and general misery. Stephanie is a new woman with a new outlook on life and perhaps a bit more faith that wishes can come true!

“Miracle pills and gimmick diets don’t work because you cannot incorporate them into real life. You have to find something which is right for you and the way you live. I never want to stop feeling the way I do about myself at the moment.”
